OK I promised I would show a few pics of my living room.It is far from done but I got most of the stuff I am keeping up on walls or setting on cabinet tops.I can not believe how much stuff I got rid of;who says you have to keep that picture someone gave you if you absolutely hate it?I have found much of my wall stuff is hand me downs or gifts from others.I did not put anything I did not like back out.Sorry family;but it's time I decorate my house for my family.I find I feel much better about my house with stuff I like out.
This is the best picture of the paint color,I don't know why but the color seems different in every picture.Could be that I took the pictures in the morning before Sun came up.The color is Basketry by Behr paint at Home Depot. The plate was Hubby's Great Grandma's;one of the most unusual designs I have seen.
OK this is the Huge fish tank that needs cleaned(all about real life here folks)I love the colors on the wall together. As you will see I have a thing for chickens;could be that I raise them? Not sure.Anyways the stars you will see through the pics are something I picked up and painted at one time;some are metal some are paper.I love the green and burgundy color with the tan paint. The chicken was a gift from my brother Dean.
OK,the little tree was a handmade gift from my favorite Aunt Lucy. This wall is a little niche by my cabinet that has a space where I can hang my aprons.I like the quirky little chickens.
This is the top of some kitchen cabinets. The cow was my toy from when I was a toddler.I know its a little strange having a toy for decoration but hey it's my house and I like her.
As you see more chickens and stars.I guess you call my decor starry eyed chickens.LOL!!!
A old mirror Hubby and I found in a old farmhouse that was being tore down.I love the fact the old mirror paint is peeling off and the wear it shows.Free is a good thing for me.Once again the stars in my favorite colors.Hard to believe that those are paper, they look like metal once I finished painting them.
A rug on the wall. You bet. This was a gift from my Step-Dad when he went to New Mexico/Texas area.It is handmade and called Tree of Life. The hanger was a walking stick from Hubby and I wondering around in the woods a long time ago.The porch rails are from a porch my Step-Dad was tearing down.Like I say free is good.
Well that's all the pics for today.
Hopefully I can show you my fireplace and other stuff later after I charge my camera batteries.
